Healing Paws

Volunteers with licensed therapy dogs visit patients as part of the Healing Paws volunteer service.

Part of our healing environment includes our Healing Paws program. Many studies have shown that people are healthier and happier because companion, service and therapy animals enrich and positively impact their everyday lives.

Our therapy dogs and their volunteer handlers are specialy trained through Therapy Dogs International, Inc., and Delta Society which are volunteer organizations dedicated to regulating, testing and registration of therapy dogs and their volunteer handlers for the purpose of visiting nursing homes, hospitals, other institutions and wherever else therapy dogs are needed.

Don't forget to ask for a baseball card keepsake with information about the therapy dog that visited you!

Teen Volunteers

Girls and boys, ages 13-17, can become TAGS. TeenAge Group Service is a year round program. TAGS help out in the evening, on weekends and when school is not in session. TAGS orientation and training is in the summer.
