March 6, 2014

Snack Attack MixIngredients

  • 4 cups unsweetened corn cereal squares or wheat cereal squares
  • 1 ½ oz. (3/4 cup) fat free pretzel sticks, broken in half
  • 1 ½ oz. (1 cup) multigrain pita chips, broken into bite-size pieces
  • 4 oz. (about 1 cup) slivered almonds
  • 2 teaspoons ground (or dry) mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon ground red pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons canola oil
  • 1 ½ teaspoons apple cider vinegar

Preheat oven to 350⁰ F. Combine cereal, pretzels, pita chips and almonds in large bowl and set aside.

Combine remaining ingredients in small bowl and stir until well blended.  Spoon over cereal mixture and toss gently, yet thoroughly to coat completely. Spread evenly on large baking sheet and bake 10 to 15 minutes or until beginning to lightly brown, stirring every 5 minutes.

Remove from oven, place pan on wire rack and let stand 2 hours. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature.

Makes 16 servings (1/2 cup per serving)
