Holiday Shopping on a Budget

December 12, 2011

Holiday dishes require a lot of ingredients, but cooking healthfully doesn't always mean you have to spend your whole paycheck at the grocery store. There are ways to shop for the healthy ingredients you need without breaking the bank.

Follow these tips next time you’re at the grocery store to save some extra cash:

  • Buy frozen vegetables and fruit.
  • Buy fruits and vegetables in season.
  • Shop from bulk bins so you can buy smaller amounts.
  • Buy produce that keeps longer in the refrigerator such as broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage or carrots.
