Change in Seasons and New Activity

September 11, 2013

Autumn brings new opportunities to combine family fun, outdoor activity, and physical fitness. It is a good time to get outdoors and get your body moving. Now that the summer heat is gone and the crisp fall air is arriving, there is no better time to get out and enjoy the beauty fall has to offer. With the change in seasons and the leaves, comes a colorful new perspective. Get out and enjoy the scenery, whether it be by foot, wheelchair, or car – just get out and enjoy! Raking leaves or doing fall outdoor work, going to the pumpkin patch, taking a walk/ stroll in a park, or just sitting on your porch drinking hot cider will allow you to enjoy the change in seasons while getting some activity into your life.

If you are not an outdoor person, the autumn season is the start of new seasons of TV shows. Make a date with exercise and your TV! While you watch, you can walk or jog in place, do squats, lunges or lift upper body weights. If you only do it during commercials it is about 20 minutes of exercise, during a 1 hour show.

Whatever fits your schedule best for the new autumn season, just incorporate something active into your daily life. The more active you are, the better off you will feel, with less fatigue and more energy!
