Berry Compote

Berry CompoteIngredients

  • 1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen berries (if using fresh, add 2 Tbsp water to the mixture)
  • 1 tsp freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger

Directions

  1. Combine all of the ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 3 to 4 minutes, until mixture bubbles, pulls away from the sides of the pan, and becomes syrupy.
  3. Store in the refrigerator for 1 week or freeze. 
  4. If using fresh blueberries, add 2 Tbsp water.

Yield: 1 1/4 Cups
