Sprinkle of Goodness

Courtesy of Jo Cessna, healthy culinary instructor, this recipe is definitely Food for Thought. When it comes to encouraging your brain to be its best, all food is not created equal. Superfoods like salmon, walnuts, spinach and berries support healthy brain function. Give any dish a healthy brain boost and a dash of flavor with this mixture, featuring antioxidant-, potassium-, and vitamin-rich parsley and memory-enhancing walnuts. Sprinkle it on salmon, baked potatoes, yogurt, pasta or roasted vegetables.


  • 1/3 cup parsley, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup walnuts, chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons dried cranberries, chopped
  • 1 to 2 garlic cloves, minced (1 generous teaspoon)
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon zest, freshly grated
  • 2 Tablespoons total whole leaf mint and chives, finely minced
  • 1/8 teaspoon sea salt
  • Pinch red pepper flakes


Mix ingredients. Store in the refrigerator until you’re ready to sprinkle on your favorite dish.
