KCH Celebrates Heart Month in February

February is American Heart Month and Kishwaukee Community Hospital wants you to join in the celebration. KCH is offering several heart healthy activities.

On Feb. 1, the third annual Heart Health Luncheon is a chance for men and women to enjoy a delicious and healthy meal, while learning the latest facts about heart disease. Cardiologist Thomas Kurian, MD, will speak on Current trends in Heart Health. Participants will receive recipes and gifts along with their lunch.

The Heart Health Luncheon is Wednesday, Feb. 1, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the DeKalb County Farm Bureau, 1350 West Prairie Drive in Sycamore. Cost is $15 per person or $25 per couple. Reservation deadline is Jan. 27.

The third annual Women’s Night Out is a time for women to take care of their health and pamper themselves at the same time. Women age 40 and older who schedule a heart scan, annual mammogram, or both and will also receive manicures, makeovers, hair color and style analysis, a chair massage, a hand massage, healthy refreshments, and a chance to meet with a certified bra fitter from Olga’s.

Participants can enter to win a beauty product giveaway. Appointments are being taken for Feb. 20, 21, and 22, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Kishwaukee Community Hospital.
