Dr. Kola to Host Midwest Center for Cancer and Blood Opening Jan. 21

Ramesh Kola, MDDr. Ramesh Kola will welcome visitors and patients to his newly opened Midwest Center for Cancer and Blood on Saturday, January 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 15 W. Pleasant Avenue, Sandwich. The practice is conveniently located in a freestanding building across the street from Valley West Community Hospital.

Dr. Kola recently opened his full time, independent community practice in Sandwich, bringing 15 years experience in the field of cancer care in Aurora where he held leadership positions at various health care institutions. He is board certified in oncology, hematology, and internal medicine and also certified in hospice/palliative care. Dr. Kola received his fellowship training in Oncology and Hematology at University of Illinois, Chicago. He has actively participated in Cancer Research as a principal investigator in several cancer clinical trials and served as the Medical Director for Cancer Research at Rush-Copley Hospital.

Midwest Center for Cancer and Blood offers a full spectrum of medical oncology services to residents of Sandwich, Yorkville, Plano, Aurora and surrounding communities in DeKalb, Kendall and Kane counties. For patient convenience the cancer center is equipped with an on-site lab for Complete Blood Counts, pharmacy for preparation of Chemotherapy drugs, and a comfortable infusion suite where administration of chemotherapy is available everyday. The Cancer Support Group meets on site and is facilitated by oncology professionals, Clergy, Volunteers, Social workers etc. It is open to all patients, cancer survivors and families, irrespective of their treating oncologists.
