KishHealth System Bringing Imaging Center and Physician Services to Yorkville

February 3, 2006

Early fall target date for providing CT, MRI, Ultrasound in Yorkville

KishHealth System has announced plans to locate a multi-modality diagnostic imaging center and physician services in Yorkville.

KishHealth System, in a joint venture with DeKalb-based Consultants in Diagnostic Imaging, LLC (CDI) and Yorkville Family Practice, will lease 4,300 square feet in the one story, 8,000-square-foot building on land at the southeast corner of Countryside Parkway and Center Parkway.

The remainder of the building will be leased by Valley West Community Hospital for physician offices. Valley West in Sandwich, a member of the KishHealthSystem, serves the southern half of DeKalb County and neighboring communities in Kendall and LaSalle counties. Sister hospital, Kishwaukee Community Hospital, primarily serves the northern half of DeKalb County and neighboring communities in Kane and Ogle counties.

"The imaging center, to be called Yorkville Imaging, brings to the people of Yorkville a wide range of state of the art diagnostic imaging services including CT, MRI, Ultrasound and X-ray, services desperately needed for this growing population," said Kevin Poorten, President and CEO of KishHealth System. "We are anxious to meet the growing demand for healthcare in our Yorkville market already served by VWCH physical and occupational therapy services since 2000."

Larry Hanson, CDI administrator, said, "Physicians can expect the fastest turnaround time for reports, thanks to our excellent staff and on-site Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS). With PACS, images formerly stored on bulky X-ray film are digitalized and stored in secure data banks, ready for viewing, interpreting and transcription.

Doctors and other professionals receiving patient reports can expect them almost immediately and even access the images and reports directly from their own office or home computers."

Yorkville Imaging will be staffed by Consultants in Diagnostic Imaging, a group of physicians that are board certified by the American College of Radiology and fellowship-trained in the interpretation of CT, MRI and other imaging modalities. Digital transcription will enhance report delivery from the radiologist to referring physicians.

The physician offices, available on a permanent or time-share basis, will be staffed by physicians from the Valley West Community Hospital Medical Staff. Targeted specialties include Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Oncology, and Otolaryngology (ENT), Orthopedics, and Urology.

Construction of the building is underway with an expected completion date of July. "By early fall, the people of Yorkville can have a physician-ordered CT scan or MRI without having to drive 10-15 miles," said Joe Dant, Vice President of Business Development for KishHealth System.
