sale.

Kishwaukee Community Hospital Cardiac Rehab Participant Alberta Dequin organized a bake sale recently at KCH to benefit fellow rehabbers having difficulty paying the cost of rehab.

KCH Cardiac Rehab patients in Phase III and Phase IV are part of optional cardiac maintenance programs, which most insurance companies do not cover. For many older adults, the cost of cardiac rehab coupled with the cost of medications and medical bills can be overwhelming. The bake sale profited $864 to be used as financial aid for several rehab participants needing assistance.

Donations of baked goods, money and other sale items came from KCH cardiac rehabbers, KCH staff and volunteers, DeKalb Florist, Duttons & Bows Florist in Shabbona, St. John Lutheran Church in Sycamore, Osco Drug, and Sycamore Anesthesia Services. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans has agreed to match funds raised by the sale.
