Quilt Raffle for VWCH Auxiliary at the Sandwich Fair

Myrtie Warren, VWCH Auxiliary,
displays a quilt for auction at
Sandwich Fair.

The Valley West Community Hospital Auxiliary has donated more than $200,000 since 1999 and will continue that rich tradition this year at the 2006 Sandwich Fair by hosting a quilt raffle. A 68” x 86” quilt, “Christmas Log Cabin,” handmade by Joyce Spoor of Somonauk, will be displayed and raffled off at the Valley West Community Hospital Auxiliary booth located in Building 1, just north of the Horticulture Building at the Sandwich Fair. With vibrant holiday colors and crafted by hand, the quilt is a one of a kind item.

In addition to the holiday quilt, the hospital Auxiliary will also be raffling a decorated 5 foot Aspen Christmas tree.  Also on display at the Sandwich Fair booth will be pictures of the five Auxiliary Health Scholarship winners, who collectively received $9,000 in scholarships this year. Staffed by Auxiliary volunteers and hospital employees, the booth at the Fair has cold bottled water available for a $1 donation.

Fairgoers are encouraged to purchase raffle tickets by stopping by the Valley West Community Hospital Auxiliary booth at the Sandwich Fair, located in Building 1, between 9:00 a.m. and 9:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 6 – Sunday, September 10. Raffle tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. The raffle drawing will be held Sunday, September 10 at the close of the Sandwich Fair at 6:00 p.m.
