The Kishwaukee Community Hospital Auxiliary inducted 11 new volunteers into its 500-Hour Club at the Auxiliary's annual meeting held on June 18.

Members of the 500-Hour Club are volunteers who have accrued at least 500 volunteer hours in their service to the hospital.

The inductees were Betty Albrecht, Jay Elliott, Evelyn Elster, Jane Jacobson, Gloria Janke, Margaret Klink, Judy Letzter, Virginia Luedtke, Wilda Peterson, Sue Pfund, and Jake Wyland.

According to KCH Volunteer Services Director Paula von Ende, the 500-Hour Club volunteers have made a commitment to KCH through their consistent level of volunteerism. "Any volunteer wearing the silver 500 Hour Club pin is an outstanding volunteer committed to making the hospital a better place for everyone," von Ende says.

Jobs volunteers perform include staffing the hospital reception desk, delivering mail and newspapers to patients, escorting visitors around the hospital, and operating the hospital's gift shop.

Volunteers also provide clerical help to departments, assist with the hospital's recycling program and organize Auxiliary fundraisers such as Potpourri and the Snow Ball.

For more information on volunteering, please contact KCH Volunteer Services Director Paula von Ende at 815-756-1521 ext. 3372.
