“Beth Post is a stellar nurse. She always strives to do a better job and to help keep the Maternity Suites Department moving forward. She embraces challenges with an open mind and a positive attitude,” Duffy said.

Beth Post, RNC, a Maternity Suites nurse at Kishwaukee Community Hospital, has been named KishHealth System’s Nurse of the Year. Post has worked at Kish Hospital for over 20 years and is a registered nurse certified in outpatient obstetrics.

“She is an enthusiastic nurse in her patient-centered care of patients and families,” said Pamela Duffy, Vice President of Patient Care Services and Medical Staff Office. “She handles the stress involved in professional nursing in a very positive manner: Always smiling, staying upbeat, helping and encouraging others,” Duffy said in presenting the award.

Post frequently teaches new staff and students and is described as “amazing” by those with whom she shares her knowledge and experience. She incorporates research findings into the care of patients and represents the Maternity Suites Department and Kish Hospital at the state level in her role as HIV coordinator.

Duffy also said she goes above and beyond when it comes to customer service and service recovery. She uses her own time and money to make beautiful crib cards for all of our babies, which families treasure as a keepsake of their infant’s stay in the Maternity Suites.
