Kish Hospital's Auxiliary Announces TAG of the Year

July 28, 2010

Martina ChristyMartina Christy was honored recently as the 2010 TAG of the Year at Kishwaukee Community Hospital’s Auxiliary Annual Meeting. The acronym TAGS, standing for Teenage Group Services, is the Auxiliary’s student program that provides a wide variety of volunteer services to Kish Hospital, including front desk reception.

Martina, a 2010 DeKalb High School graduate, has served the TAGS for the past three years. Program Director Sally Brotcke said, “Martina joined the program quiet and shy but soon blossomed into a very kind, caring and personable young lady, the perfect example of the dedication, enthusiasm and hard work the TAGS provide to the hospital.”

Martina, like so many of the TAGS volunteers, easily multi-tasked in the hospital environment while being actively engaged in school activities. At DeKalb High School she was a member of the French Club, as well active in the Key Club which provides community service under the auspices of the Kiwanis.

Martina said that being a TAG gave her the chance to interact with others and she valued the opportunity to be of service. She enjoyed being a part of the TAGS team, and cited Sarah Maas for special mention as one she especially loved working with. Kish Hospital’s Auxiliary is grateful for Martina’s service to the hospital.
