Community Wellness Thanks City of Plano

November 29, 2010

Dear Editor:
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank and acknowledge the people who helped make our free Know Your Numbers event at Plano City Hall on November 20, a success. On behalf of Valley West Community Hospital and the KishHealth System, we’d like to thank City Clerk Deanna Brown, Deputy Clerk Kathy Miller, and Mayor Bob Hausler. Their effort and help with coordination made this free screening event available for 50 residents in the area.

Valley West created Know Your Numbers because knowing and understanding your numbers is a component vital to good health. Heart disease and other health issues can be predicted using this information, and learning your numbers can help individuals find ways to decrease personal risk for disease. The free screenings include a blood draw for cholesterol and blood sugar levels, blood pressure, body mass index (BMI) and waist measurement.

Valley West Community Wellness thanks the city of Plano for their willingness to help make their community a healthier place to live, and to further support and promote Valley West’s mission.

To learn more about upcoming Know Your Numbers events or to register please contact Valley West Community Wellness at 815.786.3962.
