"Let's Dance" Weekend coming up July 16.

Kishwaukee Community Hospital is partnering with Just Make It Happen for the Family Time Dance Party, Saturday, July 16, 2 to 4 p.m., in the Duke Ellington Ballroom, in NIU’s Holmes Student Center at the corner of Lucinda and Normal, DeKalb, as part of the 6th Annual “Let’s Dance” Weekend. The Community Wellness Department’s Mobile Health Unit will be onsite doing blood pressure checks and promoting the We Can! program from 1:15 to 2 p.m. near the west entrance of the Holmes Student Center.

The event features live family-friendly music, and a professional dance leader all at an affordable price. The cost to participate is $15 per family with advance registration or $20 per family at the door. Everyone is encouraged to wear socks or leather soled shoes, as tennis shoes and bare feet do not work on the dance floor. The hospital also is sponsoring scholarships to encourage individuals and families to learn about the health benefits of ballroom dancing. The scholarship can be used one time at either the Family Dance event or at one of the three other “Let’s Dance” events. The scholarships provide a discount of $10 for individuals or $20 per couple toward the registration fee. Submit one form per person with your registration form and payment. For more information and to download the scholarship application, visit www.justmakeithappen-dekalb.com. Free parking is available in the lots nearby the student center. Advance registration is recommended.
