Free Mammograms Offered for Uninsured Women

Uninsured women ages 40-64 can receive a free mammogram and PAP test at a special event Saturday, Sept. 24, at Kishwaukee Community Hospital.

Appointments for the Women Matter event are available from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day and must be made in advance. Breast exams, seated chair massages, mini-manicures, information from local agencies, refreshments and a gift for each participant also will be available. 

Women Matter is sponsored by Kish Hospital, the Community Cares Clinic, Tri-County Community Health Center, and the Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (IBCCP). There are no income eligibility criteria, but interested women must call Carolyn Shelton at IBCCP to initiate the application and appointment process.
