Pam Kitterman to Retire

Pam Kitterman, RNHospice invites everyone to celebrate the retirement of Pam Kitterman, RN, patient care coordinator, at a party on Aug. 2 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Hospice office, 2727 Sycamore Road, DeKalb. Pam joined DeKalb County Hospice in 1993 as the volunteer program coordinator and soon moved into her current position.
Karen Hagen, RN, executive director of Hospice, said, “When Hospice became Medicare Certified in 2000 and we began providing the nursing care for our patients and Pam’s job expanded and it has been expanding ever since. In 2002, Pam became certified in hospice and palliative care nursing and in 2005 was named KishHealth System Nurse of the Year.” Karen continued, “She has also spent many hours educating community groups, professionals, nursing and nurses’ aide students on hospice care. She has been an invaluable member of our Hospice team and we will miss her terribly but wish her all the best in the next chapter of her life.”
Heide Isham, RN, who is also certified in hospice and palliative care, will be taking the position. Heide has been with Hospice since 2002 as part of the clinical team caring for Hospice’s patient and families.
