Valley West Hospital Emergency RoomSANDWICH, Ill. – KishHealth System’s Valley West Hospital will receive the 2015 Women’s Choice Award for America’s Best Hospitals for Emergency Care. Valley West Hospital’s selection is based on superior performance on the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Service measures for emergency departments. Hospitals earn the emergency care award if they consistently rank among the best of the 3,600 hospitals reporting on their emergency department’s performance CMS.  The seven measures CMS publicly reports are weighted according to the priorities of surveyed women. Hospitals that fall within the top 25% for most or all of the most important measures can earn the award. Awards are limited to hospitals with a solid Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) recommendation rating. The Women’s Choice Award is a leading advocate for female patients. They set higher patient standards and expectations to help women identify where they can get the very best care.

In addition to the emergency department Valley West Hospital offers a wide variety of services with a community-based medical staff of 150 physicians who are able to care for patients covering most specialties.
