March 26, 2015

KishHealth System Physician Group, DeKalbSYCAMORE, Ill.—As part of its continual efforts to ensure patients receive the very best in comprehensive, collaborative healthcare, KishHealth System is proud to announce that the DeKalb Clinic practice officially became a member of the health system family on March 1, 2015. “All involved with this venture are very excited because it means greater alignment between the physicians and the health system, which only benefits the patient,” said Dr. Michael Kulisz, chief medical officer for KishHealth System. “We are all working toward the same goal, supporting patients at every stage of their healthcare. We look forward to continuing to provide the great care patients have expected over the years.”

The newest KishHealth System location, at 1850 Gateway Drive, houses departments of KishHealth System Physician Group and a few departments of Kishwaukee Hospital, including Laboratory and Radiology. Lehan Drugs and the VAC Café remain at their current locations. Valet parking is now available for the convenience of patients and visitors offered Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.

Mayuri Morker, MDMost physicians have transitioned to KishHealth System Physician Group and remain in the building. And the health system is pleased to welcome board certified pediatrician Mayuri Morker, MD, to the practice. She is an established local pediatrician and has been on the health system medical staff since 2011. She joins the three other pediatricians at the KishHealth System Physician Group, DeKalb location, Drs. Suzanne Cook, Syed Jafri, and David Phillips. Dr. Morker sees her role as being an advocate for children, working with parents to help children stay healthy and to resolve problems when they arise. “I’m especially focused on assessing my patients’ progress and helping them successfully reach milestones in their growth and development,” she said. Dr. Morker completed medical school at Rush Medical College in Chicago and her pediatric residency at Advocate Christ/Hope Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn. Dr. Morker has always enjoyed taking care of kids which led her to explore a career in pediatrics. “As I started down the road of becoming a pediatrician, I realized how unique a field it is. It’s not just taking care of sick kids. The pediatrician is involved with the whole family—children, parents, and caregivers. It means so much when a parent entrusts you with their child’s care,” she said. Dr. Morker is board certified in pediatrics and is most gratified seeing the progression of the children in her care, from babies to healthy young adults.
