Yoga for Kids Class Offered in Sycamore

little girl doing yogaSYCAMORE, Ill. – The KishHealth System Physical Therapy Center, part of Northwestern Medicine, offers Yoga for Kids. The class is held on Thursdays from 4 to 5 pm at the KishHealth System Physical Therapy Center, 2111 Midlands Court, Sycamore. The one-hour Yoga for Kids class for children age five years and older, is taught by certified yoga instructor. It offers all the benefits of yoga packed into a kid-friendly class that captures children’s attention with guided imagery, games, mindfulness, and relaxation.

The class was established by a certified yoga instructor and a pediatric physical therapist using their combined 15 years of experience working with children and mastering their passions for yoga and therapy. The health benefits of yoga are scientifically and medically recognized, and can benefit a child’s physical and mental health. A weekly yoga practice can help to develop strength, balance, coordination, and flexibility. Yoga can also help improve a child’s self-esteem, social interactions, focus, and relaxation. Instructors model healthy behaviors like being present, disconnecting, and meditation which can have a positive impact on the way children view life.
