Ben Gordon Center Community Support Program (CSP)

The Community Support Program with Ben Gordon Center offers a variety of services to patients who have been diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI). It
provides intensive levels of care and long term case management for “at risk” and vulnerable populations who have either limited or no supportive assistance.

CSP services assist individuals to improve and maintain a functional capacity to meet their basic daily living skills within the least restrictive environment. Individuals engage in skill building activities to assist them in the development of functional, interpersonal, family, coping, and community living skills that are negatively impacted by their SPMI.

Individuals have the opportunity to participate in individual and group counseling up to several days a week and learn skills for leading a more productive life. Services provided include: case management, support and advocacy, psychiatry, consumer employment services, group counseling, and
individual therapy.

The Community Support Program offers a variety of services to patients over the age of 18 who have been diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) or co-occurring psychiatric disabilities. CSP identifies and uses recovery tools and skill building to facilitate independent living and adaptation, problem solving, and coping skill development.

This program is intended to assist individuals’ ability to:

  • Live as independently as possible
  • Manage illness
  • Live with as little intervention as possible
  • Achieve functional, social, educational, and vocational goals

These sessions occur in face-to-face individual and group formats both on-site and in community settings.

* Funding provided in whole or in part by the Illinois Department of Human Services.
