Learn Your Risk Factors for Heart Disease

As a first step to preventing heart disease, the American Heart Association urges all adults to know their risk factors for heart disease, measured by:

  • Blood Pressure
  • Lipoprotein Test-includes Total Cholesterol, Triglycerides, LDL, HDL, VLDL
  • Fasting Blood Glucose(Sugar)Test
  • Body Mass Index (BMI)
  • Waist Circumference

KishHealth System has two programs to help you know and understand your numbers: Know Your Numbers and HeartWise. Heart disease, Type II diabetes and other health issues can be predicted using this information.

Free Know Your Numbers Screening Appointment in DeKalb and Sandwich

As a service to our community, we are offering the following screenings and education free of charge in the convenience of one appointment.

  • Lipoprotein and Fasting Blood Glucose Test
  • Blood pressure
  • Waist Circumference
  • Body mass index (BMI)
  • Individual Education

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. 12 hour fast required. Must be 20 years or older. You can attend Know Your Numbers one time per year.

HeartWise Cardiac Health Evaluation

This program includes everything Know Your Numbers provides plus a State-of-the-art CT heart scan with low dose technology to reveal the extent of calcified plaque, an indication of blockage

in the coronary arteries. Suggested for those 40 years or older with at least one risk factor for heart disease. May not be covered by insurance.
