Conservative Treatment for Pain

Conservative management is an approach to treating back pain, neck pain, and related spinal conditions utilizing non-surgical treatment options, such as physical therapy, medication, and injections. Most episodes of back and neck pain can be treated through conservative care and a combination of several conservative treatments is often recommended to alleviate pain and rehabilitate the back and neck.

KishHealth System Spine Center incorporates complementary therapies for patients and our goal is to always use the least invasive option available to provide symptom relief. KishHealth System Physical Therapy Center provides customized home exercise programs for each patient’s individual needs. Massage therapy is conveniently located at the physical therapy center location allowing ease of access to appointments.

Adding to the team approach of care, patients are encouraged to attend classes and programs that focus on health and wellness education, fitness and nutrition and chronic disease management.

Patients may find relief upon the introduction of one or more conservative, non-surgical treatments of spine pain, which may include:

  • Facet joint steroid injections
  • Sacroiliac joint injection
  • Trigger point injections
  • Epidural steroid injections (interlaminar and transforaminal)
  • Radiofrequency ablation (RFA)
  • Peripheral joint and bursa injections (shoulder, hip, knee, etc)
  • Kyphoplasty / Vertebroplasty
  • Ganglion impar block
  • Spinal cord stimulators
  • Piriformis injection
  • Electrodiagnostics (EMG/NCS)
  • CT Guided injections
  • Fluoroscopy guided injections
